Amazon came out on top in the ranking of the most valuable brands on the planet.

Amazon, a US retailer, has overtaken Apple and Alphabet technology companies in the list of top-tier brands.

Research agency Kantar has published a ranking of the 100 most expensive brands in the world. According to the data presented, the company with the largest brand capital in 2019 was Amazon. Analysts estimated the capital of the name of the American online store at $ 315.5 billion.



Amazon became the leader of the ranking for the first time. Prior to this, starting in 2007, Google and Apple replaced each other on the first line of the list. In 2007, Google dethroned Microsoft.

The agency attributed the growth of Amazon to the fact that in recent years the company has been actively moving away from the online store model as the only business. Today, Amazon is a huge technology company that deals with unmanned vehicles, air cargo, cloud technologies, food delivery and even pharmaceuticals. Amazon is developing these areas and finding new ones through the purchase of companies and startups.



The list includes 15 Chinese companies, estimated at CNBC. The most expensive brand among them is Alibaba.

Companies in sectors such as technology, finance, and retail sales formed more than two thirds of the list.

The brand with the fastest growing capital in 2019 was the social network Instagram.
