Hu Xijin: Hong Kong citizens should not be fooled by Western political elites.

Who in the mainland wants Hong Kong to lose its capitalist characteristics and become a city that looks like the mainland? Anyway, I don't want to. I hope to adhere to "one country, two systems" and Hong Kong maintains its unique social outlook based on the capitalist system.
I think that Hong Kong is interesting. It is worthwhile for mainlanders to look at it and internalize it. China will lose a colorful dimension.

I believe this is the idea of most Chinese people. The Hong Kong opposition continues to promote Beijing's freedom to suppress Hong Kong's freedom.
To make Hong Kong like the mainland, the existing lifestyle of Hong Kong people will not be guaranteed. This kind of statement is not only inconsistent with the basic principles of "one country, two systems", but also seriously inconsistent with the psychology of the mainland society.
I don't know where their sense of crisis came from, whether it is true or not, but they are indeed scaring some citizens in Hong Kong.
The Western system encourages political confrontation and it is easy to make political confrontation extreme.
I am very worried that some people in Hong Kong have gone awry on this issue and have turned the confrontational games of Western society into real confrontation, thus undermining Hong Kong's environment as a financial center and casting a shadow over the future of the city.

Please note that the political confrontation in Western society will change with the rhythm of the election, so they are in some sense a "game" of social balance.
However, in non-Western societies, political confrontation often leads to the sharp point of the horns, which has become a major impact on the social governance mechanism, and even tragedy. Hong Kong must not unknowingly dig into the horns on this issue.
Since Hong Kong pursues a capitalist system, the performance of various Western societies is normal. But be sure to play in and play with it. This is a sweat that Lao Hu has sincerely pinned to the Hong Kong society as a mainland observer.
In this world, outside the Hong Kong society, what really cares about the fate of Hong Kong is the mainland of China. Because Hong Kong is a piece of meat in China, Hong Kong's good and bad are related to us.
Hong Kong is getting better and better, and it is the more harmonious meaning of the whole country. In other places, what do people expect from Hong Kong? Taiwan is tempted to decline Hong Kong to prove that it is "rejecting reunification" is correct.
The United States is concerned about how to turn Hong Kong into a new lever to exert pressure on Beijing and how to use Hong Kong affairs to find China. As for the United Kingdom, their feelings are also very complicated. There may be a trace of old feelings, but if Hong Kong is better than the British colonization, much better, will London be comfortable?
Hong Kong people must have a basic judgment on the old nonsense. Don't be fooled by Western political elites. Don't be kidnapped by Hong Kong's political game logic. "One country, two systems" is a new thing.

When encountering various problems, we must discuss it. Don't be impulsive, don't be led to extremes. If Hong Kong loses its stability, those who engage in radical politics can figure out their own gains. Western politicians are watching the hustle and bustle.
The biggest loss to the time is the people of Hong Kong. The most distressed and helpless will be the collective of the Chinese nation.
