Trump on Venezuela: "We have five different strategies that could change at any time"

Donald Trump, president of the United States, said Saturday that they have "five different strategies" to address the crisis in Venezuela. These five alternatives, Trump continued, "Could change at any time."

The president said that the Venezuela issue was not alien to his meetings with his peers, during the G20 Summit in Japan.

"I talked about the issue with almost all the leaders this weekend. We talk about Venezuela because we do not want it to happen to us or to other countries, "said Trump.

However, despite the options indicated, Trump said that for now "we are supporting them from the point of view of humanitarian aid," alluding to Venezuela.
"We are trying to get as much as we can.

I think they are making a grave a mistake by not letting the aid come in easily and reach the people, "he said about the regime of Nicolás Maduro, questioned the president of Venezuela.

The theme in the region

The political crises of Venezuela and Nicaragua were the protagonists, this Friday, in the closing session of the General Assembly of the Organization of the American States that took place in Medellin.

The majority of member states approved two resolutions: the first on "The situation in Venezuela and the crisis of   Venezuelan migrants" and the second on "The situation in Nicaragua."

In the case of Venezuela, the bill was approved with 20 votes in favor and 8 against. The almost full audience got up and applauded for several minutes when this project was validated.

This resolution establishes six points among them, the recognition of Gustavo Tarre, delegate of the president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó , as representative of this country before the OAS.

This point particularly generated the rejection of Nicaragua and Mexico who through their representative Luz Elena Baños expressed that the agency does not have the capacity to recognize or not governments.

Meanwhile, in Venezuela

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Maduro government denounced that it thwarted a presumed coup that included the murder of Maduro, his wife Cilia Flores and his second strong man, Diosdado Cabello, head of the National Constituent Assembly.
Maduro assured that they would give a forceful response to the plot and the permanent conspiracy.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez, informed that the plan was expected to be carried out between Sunday and Monday, with the support of countries such as Colombia, Chile and the United States.

He also denounced that Raúl Baduel, a general who is currently being detained by the Intelligence Service and who was Minister of Defense during the government of Hugo Chávez, was scheduled to proclaim President of the Republic.
