Trump was the first US president to cross the DPRK border

The head of the White House, Donald Trump crossed the DPRK border in the demilitarized zone and became the first US president to set foot on North Korean land. He then met with the Chairman of the DPRK State Council, Kim Jong-un, behind closed doors. Kim said it would be a great honor for his country if Trump visits Pyongyang. In Moscow, called Trump's visit to the DPRK PR and show.
US President Donald Trump became the first American leader to set foot in North Korea - he did it on Sunday, June 30, when he met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between the two Koreas and agreed to resume the deadlocked nuclear conversation.

The two leaders warmly shook hands and expressed hope for peace - they met for the third time in just over a year on the border of the DPRK and the Republic of Korea.
A few minutes later they returned to the South Korean side and joined South Korean President Moon Jae Inu for a brief conversation, then Trump and Kim held a meeting behind closed doors that lasted for almost an hour, Reuters reports.

“The meeting was very good, very productive ... We agreed to work out the details. Let's see what happens next, ”said the head of the White House.
Trump explained that both sides will create teams to continue the deadlocked negotiations aimed at forcing North Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons, adding that he is not in a hurry to make a deal.
Kim also looked relaxed and smiling when he talked with Trump among a crowd of photographers, assistants and bodyguards.
“I was surprised to see your message that you want to meet me,” he told Trump, referring to the Saturday proposal for a meeting from the US President, made in a message on Twitter.
Kim added that for his whole country and for him personally it would be a great honor if Trump visits Pyongyang.

“It was a great honor to cross this line,” answered Trump, referring to his brief presence on the North Korean side of the DMZ.

“This is a great day for the whole world. We moved the mountains,” he said and confessed that he personally did not like the fact of the introduction of sanctions against the DPRK.
However, Moscow is still skeptical of the friendship between the United States and the DPRK.
“Before the trip to Osaka, Trump announced that he would meet with many, but not with Kim. Now he shakes his hand in Panmunjom.

That's Trump: content is nothing, PR is everything. He faithfully observes the laws of "non-stop show." If the problem is not solved, then at least make a spectacular move,” said a member of the Federation Council Alexei Pushkov.

A few days earlier, US military intelligence said that the North Korean leader was not ready for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. This was stated by Robert Ashley, director of the intelligence department of the United States Department of Defense.
“Kim Jong Un is not ready for denuclearization,” he said.
According to him, the US military intelligence is trying to assess the nuclear potential of North Korea, reports FAN.
In turn,
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke out about the DPRK denuclearization - according to him, this process should cover the entire Korean Peninsula and not just the northern part.

Lavrov made such a statement during a press conference devoted to the results of his talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang I. The Russian diplomat stressed that Moscow and Beijing welcomes the dialogue between the USA and the DPRK, which should be held in stages and on the basis of reciprocity and openness.
In April of this year, there was a conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, which was “thorough” and covered several important topics. Putin said this after the meeting, reports NSN.

"We were able to talk about the history of our interstate relations, talked about today, about the prospects for the development of bilateral relations," the Russian leader said. According to Putin, he discussed with Kim Jong-un the situation on the Korean Peninsula and denuclearization.
“We exchanged views on how and what should be done in order for the situation to have good prospects for improvement,” said the President of the Russian Federation.
The bilateral summit was held on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island in Vladivostok. The meeting between Putin and Kim lasted about two hours.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Gen Shuang expressed the hope that the meeting between Putin and Kim would help the settlement on the Korean Peninsula. According to him, Russia and the DPRK are friendly neighbors of China. He also added that Beijing is pleased to strengthen relations between Moscow and Pyongyang.
